Full job description
We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Manager with excellent leadership skills and networking abilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cultivating relationships with donors and partners across multiple sectors, engaging with the public and internal teams, delegating tasks, and developing strategies to achieve annual fundraising goals. The Fundraising Manager should be highly organized, proactive, and inspiring to those around them.
To be successful in this role, the Fundraising Manager must ensure the organization meets its fundraising milestones, adhering to its budget, and identifies new growth opportunities. They must share in the mission of the Maestro Cares Foundation and possess strong public speaking skills and be able to deliver presentations to a range of audiences. The Fundraising Manager will report directly to the Executive Director and will create and oversee the implementation of a strategic fundraising approach,including individual and major gifts, corporate donations, grant solicitation, and in-kind resources.
Responsibilities:
- Track trends in annual giving to inform strategy for outreach, retention, and acquiring new donors.
- Develop and execute strategies for major donors, annual appeals, corporate grants, and foundation solicitations.
- Create solicitation appeals and recognition plans for new, returning donors, and lapsed donors.
- Conduct research to identify new fundraising opportunities.
- Personalize donor correspondence including targeted outreach and solicitation, and stewardship.
- Write compelling funding proposals and submit them to potential donors, partners, and sponsors.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations, ensuring regular communication and reporting.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, staff, and media.
- Collaborate with Marketing team to develop and implement marketing strategies, including social media campaigns, to raise awareness and encourage donations.
- Prepare quarterly budgets, track fundraising performance, and prepare detailed reports.
- Supervise and support team members, ensuring effective task delegation and progress toward fundraising goals.
- Organize and attend non-profit events and networking with relevant stakeholders.
- Develop creative ways to increase awareness and engagement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Fundraising, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in fundraising.
- Experience in sales or marketing is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of the non-profit sector.
- Previous experience managing a team.
- Excellent written, verbal, and telephonic communication skills.
- Must be comfortable in contacting prospects and donors, (companies and individuals) using various media (phone calls, emails, letters, etc.)
- Must be comfortable with learning and accessing the donor management/database program, Salesforce
- Highly organized with attention to detail, patience, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, set realistic deadlines, and meet timelines.
- Fully bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally, with occasional travel within the U.S. and abroad (up to 20%; U.S. passport required).

Maestro Cares Foundation consultants are expected to be flexible and to take on additional duties as assigned, according to the organization’s needs and the consultant’s skills and abilities. Because we are a non-profit that serves the community, some events or projects may require an occasional night or weekend.
