Description

Vital DiagnosTech is seeking a skilled and dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain nuclear medicine imaging equipment including gamma cameras, PET scanners, and computer systems, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
  • Position patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process and providing reassurance to alleviate anxiety and ensure patient comfort.
  • Acquire high-quality images using appropriate imaging techniques and parameters, optimizing image quality while minimizing radiation exposure to patients and staff.
  • Process and analyze acquired images using specialized software, accurately interpreting findings and documenting observations for physician review.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and other healthcare professionals to correlate imaging findings with patient clinical history and laboratory results.
  • Provide patient education and instructions regarding imaging procedures, including pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure care.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations and protocols, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials and waste.
  • Maintain accurate records of radiopharmaceutical usage, imaging procedures, patient demographics, and other relevant information in electronic medical records.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Current certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • State licensure or certification as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a nuclear medicine technologist, preferably in a hospital or imaging center setting.
  • BLS
  • Proficiency in operating nuclear medicine imaging equipment and performing a variety of nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety principles and practices, with the ability to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional competency through ongoing education and training in nuclear medicine technology.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
