Exciting opportunity for a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our healthcare team! As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a crucial role in performing nuclear medicine procedures, utilizing advanced technology to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients for nuclear medicine procedures
- Operate specialized imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET scanners
- Position patients and ensure their comfort and safety during procedures
- Capture and process high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to analyze and interpret images
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
- Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed, protecting patients and staff
- Stay updated on advancements in nuclear medicine technology and participate in continuing education
Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in Nuclear Medicine Technology
- California state licensure as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in performing nuclear medicine procedures and operating related equipment
- Knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals, radiation safety, and radiation protection measures
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, physicians, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in capturing and processing images
- Commitment to patient care and safety
