Nursery Assistant & Grower

Heidi’s GrowHaus and Lifestyle Gardens is seeking a Nursery Assistant Grower.

ABOUT YOU :
A passionate horticulturist with related degree (horticulture, floriculture, plant biology, greenhouse management, etc) or proven experience in plant selection, growing and nursery maintenance. Knowledgeable about ecology and whole-systems design. Engaged with the natural world and interested in finding creative, sustainable solutions. Entrepreneurial spirit with a quest to make a difference and create your destiny.

ABOUT THIS POSITION :
Supports Heidi’s GrowHaus and Lifestyle Gardens & Head Grower by growing and nurturing plants as well as purchasing plant materials, hard goods, fertilizers, tools and small equipment. Ensures high quality plant materials are grown and/or purchased at the lowest cost to the company and lowest impact to the environment. Oversees the care of all growing nursery space. Collaborates directly with Head Grower on all facets of the operation. Communicates with designers and storefront to establish delivery plan. Drives sales with unique products and regenerative growing practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Extensive knowledge of perennials, annuals, edibles, herbs, drought tolerant natives, pollinator plants, and woodys
• Two or more years direct experience growing annuals and perennials - more emphasis on perennials growing experience
• Experience operating and maintaining irrigation systems, tools and machinery
• Computer skills to communicate with colleagues and develop timelines, budgets and growing plans
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and take part in physical labor in all weather conditions
• Ability to work nights and weekends
• Commitment to Heidi's mission values
• Pesticide Applicators License
• Working knowledge of Counterpoint, MS Word, Excel, and Google Chrome

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
