POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Office Administrator & Assistant to the Senior Pastor will oversee the operation of the St. Mark office and assist in the workload and correspondence of the Senior Pastor.
ABOUT ST. MARK
Since 1957, St. Mark Lutheran Church has lived out its mission to “lay down our lives so as many as possible experience Jesus” in Battle Creek, MI. Since 2022, St. Mark has tripled in growth and is currently expanding the campus to accommodate for the growth.
In 2002, St. Mark launched Our World for Children, an award-winning day school providing exceptional care for over 200 children, aged 6 weeks-Junior Kindergarten, to help families to form a firm faith foundation for their children.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- maintain office inventory
- manage the office database (training provided)
- update and develop the church website (training provided)
- coordinate church communication
- streamline ministry processes including, but not limited to, worship services, large events, and volunteer scheduling
- handle vendor accounts
- communicate with members and ministry leaders
- greet guests at the church entrance during the work week
- screen incoming phone calls
- ensure a clean and organized office environment
As an Assistant to the Senior Pastor, this person will assist with:
- filing and purchasing
- email and phone call support
- schedule management
- day-to-day support
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have 3 years of previous experience as an Office Administrator. In addition, applicants will have:
- a sincere Christian faith & lifestyle
- a desire to be a part of the St. Mark worshiping community
- a minimum of a high school degree, bachelor’s degree preferred
- strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- the ability to type above 50 WPM
- exceptional grammar
- proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- previous experience in database management
- previous experience in basic web design
- previous experience in basic graphic design (Photoshop or Canva)
- excellent interpersonal skills to work in a team-based work environment
- a professional approach and high ethical demeanor
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 29 – 40 per week
