We are a national nonprofit consortium of over 12,000 local, independent tutors, IECs, and owner-operator educational service firms. Our mission is to level two playing fields at once:

2. To empower local, independent tutors and firms who observe the highest ethical standards in regard to service delivery and student outcomes

Job Overview:

We are seeking tutors and teachers to join our "At School Virtual Drop In" tutoring program. Instructors will provide educational support and guidance to students in various subjects. This is a rewarding opportunity to help students succeed academically and enhance their learning experience.

Subjects:

1) Natural Sciences: Courses such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Organic, or Environmental Science introduce students to scientific methods and concepts.

2)English Composition: This course focuses on developing writing skills, teaching students how to construct arguments, and improve their academic writing and research skills.

3) Humanities: Courses in this category might include History, Philosophy, Literature, or Art History, focusing on cultural, philosophical, and historical aspects of human civilization.

4) Mathematics: Provides a foundation in algebra, geometry, or statistics, focusing on skills that are applicable in various fields.

Duties:

- Conduct supplemental instruction sessions for students enrolled in our virtual drop in tutoring program

- Assist students in understanding complex concepts and theories

- Utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles

- Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify areas where students may need additional assistance

- Provide one-on-one tutoring as needed

- Monitor student progress and provide feedback on their performance

- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and participation

Qualifications:

- Junior year standing at a US 4 year degree granting institution. Bachelor's degree preferred
- Proven experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring
- Classroom management skills
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in educational software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week
