Operations Assistant & Food Program Coordinator
Our School:
Founded in 2018 in Ensley, BuildUP is a private, workforce development high school located in the Titusville community of Birmingham. The vision of BuildUP is to empower and equip youth and communities to determine their own future. At BuildUP, students are able to:

Reports to: Operations Director
Job Summary:
The Operations Assistant and Food Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our organization while also coordinating and implementing our food program.
- Welcoming Environment: Create a welcoming front office environment for students and families
- Communication: Monitor the front desk and main school phone line
- Organization: Manage and oversee the digital and physical student and staff file system
- Student Recruitment and Enrollment: Assist in student recruitment and enrollment
- Supply Management: Maintain non-instructional supplies and order instructional supplies for staff following proper documentation and protocol
Schoolwide Systems:
- School Wide Systems: Upholds and refines school wides systems such as Entry, Transitions, Lunch etc to foster a positive, achievement-oriented school culture.
- Food Program Front End: Coordinate the food services for the school to ensure that breakfast and lunch are delivered and run in a timely and proper manner
- Food Program Back End: Coordinate with Federal Nutrition Program and Vendors to maintain compliance with regulations and fiscal sustainability
- School Wide Projects: Assist with school-wide projects such as community events

Key Responsibilities:
● Assist with the day-to-day operations of the organization, including administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining office supplies.
● Support the coordination and implementation of our food program, including scheduling deliveries, managing inventory, and communicating with vendors and partners.
● Help with event planning and coordination, including scheduling, logistics, and on-site support.
● Maintain accurate records and data related to our operations and food program, including tracking expenses and budgets.
● Facilitate service of breakfast and lunch for school students.
● Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure smooth and efficient operations across the organization.
● Provide excellent customer service to our partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
● Attend all vital food service training and maintain all health department food standards.
● Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
● Experience in administrative support, operations, or food service preferred.
● Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
● Comfortable working with diverse populations and communities.
● Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines preferred.
● Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
