Become a part of the solution to the opiate epidemic in Essex County!!

Prevention Is Key and the Center for Addiction Recovery, Education and Success, (CARES) has an immediate opening for a part-time Outreach Coordinator to work in their Recovery Center in Essex County, NJ. This key position will work to establish a presence in the local community and function to provide Peer-to-Peer recovery support services to individuals who request assistance as part of several community-based initiatives both ongoing and planned within the region.

The ideal candidate:

  • is a member of the Essex County/Newark community, familiar with, and knowledgeable of the available resources both in and out of the immediate area
  • possesses or is actively working towards their Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist in NJ
  • is a person in stable long-term recovery or someone with lived experience and has experience working with the recovery community in some capacity
  • has an undergraduate degree in Psychology or a related course of study, or an equivalent number of years of relevant work experience

Work location: Newark, Essex County, NJ

Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Salary Range: $18-$22/hour based on experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
