Job Title: Outside Sales Representative - VA Healthcare Accounts

Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

Open Locations: Houston TX, Washington DC, West Palm Beach FL


An established and fast-growing medical device company in Cleveland is looking for a dynamic Sales Representative to become the newest member of our growing Sales Team. The company has several high-quality products currently on the market in the orthopedic and pain management arena. The company was founded by a world-renowned surgeon and has a team of highly qualified and motivated people across all disciplines who are focused on excellence and customer satisfaction.

Position Summary:

As an Outside Sales Representative specializing in VA Healthcare accounts, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and establishing strong relationships with key stakeholders within the Veterans Affairs healthcare system. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in B2B sales, a deep understanding of the VA healthcare landscape, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, customer-centric environment.


Prospecting and Lead Generation:

  • Identify and target potential clients within the VA healthcare system.
  • Conduct thorough research to understand the needs, challenges, and opportunities within the VA healthcare sector.

Sales Presentations:

  • Deliver compelling sales presentations showcasing the value proposition of our products/services to key decision-makers.
  • Clearly articulate how our solutions meet the unique needs of VA healthcare facilities.

Relationship Building:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key personnel, including procurement officers, department heads, and other relevant stakeholders within the VA healthcare accounts.

Customized Solutions:

  • Work closely with the internal teams to tailor solutions that address the specific requirements of VA healthcare facilities.

Sales Cycle Management:

  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from initial contact to contract negotiation and closure.
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts to the management team.

Market Intelligence:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and changes within the VA healthcare landscape.
  • Utilize market intelligence to position our offerings effectively and stay ahead of the competition.


  • 6+ years of sales experience
  • Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the VA healthcare system and its procurement processes.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Results-driven with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory.
  • Dynamic personality with a positive attitude that customers can genuinely feel
  • Ability to understand as well as communicate technical information and clinical concepts via telephone, in person and written documentation


  • This is a commission-based, independent contractor position (1099), with the potential for uncapped earnings based on performance.
