Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and be responsible for providing exceptional care to pets in a safe and nurturing environment. This role requires a strong understanding of animal behavior, health, and safety protocols, ensuring that all animals receive the highest standard of care.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising pets as needed.
- Monitor the health and well-being of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of animal living spaces, including kennels and play areas.
- Assist with administering medications and treatments as directed by veterinary professionals.
- Engage with animals through play and socialization to promote their emotional well-being.
- Ensure proper handling and restraint techniques are used during interactions with animals.
- Keep accurate records of animal care activities, including feeding schedules and health observations.
- Support pet owners with guidance on animal care practices when necessary.
Skills
- Proficiency in animal care practices, including a minimum of 6 months-1 year in dog daycare and boarding facility as a caretaker/ handler in the play group(s)
- Worked in Dog Daycare and Boarding facility within the past 1-2 years.
- Strong knowledge of animal behavior and ability to recognize signs of distress or illness.
- Familiarity with kennel operations and the ability to maintain a clean environment for animals.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- A compassionate attitude towards animals, demonstrating patience and understanding in all interactions.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- All references will be checked.
- All new hires will be on a 90 day probation period.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
