Position Summary
ARC is seeking an Overnight Program Monitor in an exciting new training program for Transtional Age Youth (TAY). This program is located at Camp Gonzalez in Calabasas, formerly utilized as a juvenile detention facility. This program is focused on training young men aged 18-27 to become Fire Fighters. This is an amazing opportunity to turn a former detention facility into campus that affords opportunities for life-changing careers to young men 18-25 years old. This position will report directly to the Program Manager
This position will monitor the activities and movement of program participants while working with Case Workers, Job Developers, and program partners to support the delivery of services. This position will also provide administrative support for the program by conducting and documenting facility checks, performing data entry and communicating in writing each night to the next shift, and the team. There will also be elements of group facilitation and supporting participants on community outings, appointments, and ARC events. Driving a program vehicle will be necessary. Experience with the criminal justice population is considered an asset, along with passion and commitment to social justice reform.

Essential Job Functions
- Monitor participant movement after hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Provide site security as well as serve as fire watch during critical times of the year.
- Conduct hourly facility checks and provide corroborating documentation.
- Report any suspicious activities to supervisor immediately.
- Administer on-site drug screening as needed and maintain proper documentation on each test.
- Maintain a daily census and monitor sign in/out logs at all times.
- Ensure all visitors to the property are supervised, verified, and documented in visitation logs.
- Provide support to group facilitation as needed.
- Maintain an awareness of cadets onsite, be available for support when needed.
- Pass information to supervisor and team mates.
- Provide data entry support to onsite staff: Program Coordinator, Life Coaches
- Some filing/clerical support
- Maintain positive relations with program partners.
- Transport participants to and from appointments/ARC functions as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Applicants should have some familiarity with formerly incarcerated individuals and/or lived experience. This person must have good boundaries while offering empathetic support to program participants. Experience at a residential program, formerly incarcerated, or human service provision are all assets.
The Overnight Program Monitor will have the following experience and attributes:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Insurable by ARC’s vehicle insurance provider.
- This position requires clearance from the County of Los Angeles

Salary/Benefits
- Pay range $18.00/hr. – $22.00/hr range depending on experience.
