OUR COMPANY

Qualified Production and Development provides custom machining and manufacturing services, serving the semi-conductor, life science and other industries. We have 2 facility locations, both located in Oregon. Our Hillsboro location provides contract manufacturing services for machining, prototyping and assembly with cleanroom capabilities. Our Cornelius facility provides precision sheet metal manufacturing, rounding out our ability to provide best in class integration services to our customer base.

POSITION SNAPSHOT

Under general supervision, interpret blue prints, prepare and paint/powder coat and silkscreen precision sheet metal parts for customers semi-conductor and other industries.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Accurately read and interpret work orders, blueprints and technical specifications to ensure proper part preparation, coating and graphic application.
  • Prepare sheet metal parts for powder coating and silk screening by cleaning, sanding or grinding surfaces to remove oils, dust and imperfections.
  • Apply appropriate masking materials (such as tape, plugs or liquid masks) to areas of parts that must remain uncoated or require precision during the powder coating process.
  • Ensure proper protection of threads, holes and areas that should not be coated or silkscreened.
  • Set up and operate powder coating equipment including spray guns and ovens, to apply a consistent and high quality finish on sheet metal parts.
  • Monitor and control the curing process to achieve optimal coating adhesion and durability.
  • Setup and align silkscreen frames, stencils or templates according to part specifications for accurate placement of logos, text or other graphics.
  • Mix inks and apply them to prepared surfaces with precision to ensure clean, high quality prints.
  • Verify accuracy and placement of graphics by comparing to blueprints.
  • Adhere to ISO9001 and Quality Management System processes and documentation, ensuring all work meets ISO and customer quality standards.
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure proper coating thickness, uniformity, finish quality and accuracy of silkscreened graphics.
  • Identify and correct defects such as drips, sags, smears or misaligned parts.
  • Perform regular maintenance of powder coating and silk screening equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, adhering to safety and environmental standards.
  • Follows safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

  • Day shift 9 hours Monday - Thursday and 4 hours on Friday. Occasional overtime as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 or more years experience in paint masking, powder coating and silk screening of metal parts.
  • Knowledge of powder coating and silk screening processes, materials and equipment.
  • Ability to read, understand and accurately interpret blueprints, drawing and technical instructions to manufacture parts to specifications.
  • Knowledge and experience with masking techniques and silk screening methods for precision work.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to work as a team, problem solve and collaborate well with others.
  • Flexible with ability to learn new skills, techniques, parts, etc.
  • Ability to frequently safely lift and maneuver up to 5 lbs and occasionally up to 60 lbs.
  • Basic safety/OSHA knowledge related to powder coating and handling of materials.
  • Ability to work a consistent schedule as assigned by manager.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Requirements

  • Successful experience working in a contract manufacturing, precision sheet metal and/or ISO certified environment.
  • Additional manufacturing experience such as deburring, graining, or hardware installation is a plus.
