Job Summary
The Park Maintenance Worker / Volunteer Coordinator will work independently as well as with other staff members or volunteers. This position will be expected to assist with all aspects of grounds and building maintenance to include mowing, trimming, mulching, tree care, vehicle maintenance, equipment maintenance, basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repairs. This position is directly responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers to ensure they are effectively engaged in the maintenance and improvement of our 17 miles of hiking trails. The incumbent will inspect and monitor trail conditions and determine necessary action to maintain trail markings, clear blowdowns, and implement appropriate erosion control measures. This position will be responsible for closing and securing the property on weekends and as assigned. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for the outdoors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Physically able to perform manual work with strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions in outdoor settings.
• Will perform heavy manual labor in all weather conditions, lift and move items equal to or greater than 80 pounds, climb ladders, use various hand tools, and operate various power tools and equipment.

Experience

• Some experience in park maintenance, building, or grounds maintenance is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
