Overview
Help us Grow! Riverfront Recapture’s new Park Planning Associate position offers a unique entry-level opportunity to contribute to the development and management of park projects along the Connecticut River. In this full-time role, you’ll assist the Director of Park Planning & Development with tasks like managing permits, overseeing contracts, and coordinating with government agencies and stakeholders on park development initiatives. You’ll also gain hands-on experience in the challenges of developing infrastructure in floodplain environments. This role is perfect for someone with a background in environmental science, planning, or construction project management who is eager to learn, collaborate, and help enhance public green spaces. Responsibilities
- Support Director of Park Planning & Development and Riverfront’s partners in creating and advancing long term strategic plan for park development
- Oversight, understanding, and management of permit and contract compliance including but not limited to, regulatory permits, funding agreements, and construction contracts
- Manage specific park development projects as assigned
- Active involvement in Riverfront’s efforts to strengthen relationship with government agencies
- Serve as liaison to various stakeholders including state and town regulatory agencies focused on park development and regional alternative transportation projects
- Collaborate with colleagues to prepare and submit reports to various entities
- Willingness to learn about the Riverfront Parks and the challenges of developing public infrastructure in a floodplain environment
- Willingness to take on new tasks as opportunities arise
- Assist, when necessary and directed, with Riverfront Recapture programs and activities
Requirements
- Well versed in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint for the development of project reports
- Ability to clearly communicate thru phone calls, emails, and text messaging with Riverfront Recapture staff, consultants, vendors, community leaders, and other project contacts
- Excellent writing skills to provide clear communication of Riverfront Recapture’s plans and goals
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to keep projects on schedule and meet deadlines
- Ability to read, understand, and create maps and plans related to park development
- GIS and CAD skills a plus

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
