Part-Time Accounting Associate

Thelen Materials, LLC. is seeking a well-organized Accounting Associate. In this role you will play an essential role in supporting the accounting team, including being the primary backup for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

This position is on-site, we believe we work better together than apart.

Part-time & flexible hours: 16 - 24 hours per week.

Position Responsibilities

-The primary backup for Accounts Receivable.

-The primary backup for Accounts Payable.

-The backup to the receptionist.

-Accounting experience required.

-1 – 2 years of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable preferred.

- Other duties and special projects, as needed.

o General Requirements

-Must have strong organizational skills.

-Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and standard office equipment.

-Strong verbal and written communication skills.

-Possess a high degree of attention to detail.

-Have strong analytical and data entry skills.

-Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple tasks.

-Must be a team player with a positive attitude.

-Valid driver's license required.

o Physical Requirements

-Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

-Able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.

We are a subsidiary of a unique, 78-year-old family-owned company, Thelen Sand and Gravel, Inc, that serves the Chicagoland and Southeast Wisconsin construction markets transforming natural sand and gravel, recycled concrete and asphalt into construction aggregates serving aspects of the road building as well as the residential and commercial construction industries. We also serve the organics industry, recycling private and municipal yard waste into various compost, mulch, and amended soils used in a myriad of landscape and construction applications.

Job Type: Part-time with flexible schedule

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 24 per week during daytime hours on weekdays. Potential for a few 40 hour weeks during the year to cover for AP & AR while they are off due to vacation, illness, etc.
