Full job description
The Lancaster City Housing Authority (LCHA), is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented, and organized Part Time Accounts Payable Clerk to manage and process the organization's bills and invoices. This role is key to the company's financial operations running smoothly.
What You'll Do:
- Review account numbers and process invoices for payment by:
- Adding designated accounting codes;
- Matching invoices to purchase orders or other appropriate documents;
- Verifying invoice extensions and receipt of materials or services;
- Notifying Accountant or requisitioner of discrepancies;
- Contacting or responding to vendor inquiries relating to invoice accuracy and
- payments;
- Securing approval and issuing of checks;
- Mailing checks and filing invoices.
- Allocate material, labor, and contracted services cost data to appropriate program, project, or cost centers.
- Process 1099s for Public Housing and Section 8 vendors. File 1099s timely with appropriate government authority.
- Manage U-Comp and make PILOT payments.
- Participate in annual financial audit.
- Perform additional bookkeeping duties and tasks as required.
What You'll Bring:
· Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
· Ability to read, write (including instructions and procedure manuals), and communicate effectively.
· Ability to operate standard office equipment including personal computer, copier, scanner, and printer. Must have basic proficiency in MS Office software and Internet access and usage.
· Well organized, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously with periods of isolated high stress, courteous, possess good judgment and the ability to work independently and with little supervision
· Pay attention to details and be conscious of deadlines: make sure invoices are paid on a timely basis and reports are submitted to senior staff and Board in a timely fashion.
· Prefer possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
