Central Florida Community Action Agency, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides assistance to low-income residents of Alachua, Marion, and Levy Counties. Our mission is to promote economic mobility by helping people living in poverty achieve self-sufficiency.
Central Florida Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking Part-Time Client Service Specialists to join our team. We are seeking individuals passionate about helping others in the community. This position has the possibility of becoming full-time (benefits eligible).
This position serves as a case management specialist/social worker across all agency programs in Alachua, Levy, and Marion counties.
EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma (or equivalent) or college credits preferred but not required. Experience working with low-income families a plus.
- Occasional travel for work related activities.
- General knowledge of office procedures and protocols.
- Must be able to use computerized programs, including Microsoft Office suite.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working in a professional office environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determines client eligibility for all available services.
- Guides clients in the completion of applications and the collection of information necessary to verify qualification for specific services.
- Provides information to the public on the availability of programs and activities.
- Enters client information into appropriate database(s) and updates said database(s) with service information, case notes, etc., as required by policy and/or practice.
- Attends trainings and meetings, as scheduled and/or assigned.
- Assist with coordination of community outreach activities that include program services and outreach designed to inform the public about the agency programs.
- Provide program support with clerical tasks to include phone coverage, copying, collating, filing, faxing, emailing.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Candidates must be available to work 24 hours per week on a regular basis.
