Employment Type: Full-Time Employee

Reporting To: Partnerships Senior Manager

Salary: $40,000-$47,500

Break A Difference’s (BAD) mission is to strategically engage individuals and institutions through service to positively impact communities those we serve. As a nonprofit, we accomplish this by engaging corporations in large-scale service projects, preparing skilled leaders to serve on nonprofit boards, expanding the volunteer service capacity for nonprofits, and partnering with organizations to engage college students in week-long immersive service trips, otherwise known as Alternative Breaks. POSITION SUMMARY

The Partnerships Specialist (PS) will work with the Partnerships team to market Break A Difference volunteer programs nationwide by building relationships with new and existing corporate and university partners. This includes working behind the scenes on administrative tasks, including reporting, planning, database coordinating, researching, inquiring, developing relationships with new and existing client and community partners based on their needs, and developing and staffing meaningful volunteer engagement projects to address those needs.

Reporting to the Partnerships Senior Manager, the Partnerships specialist will have four main areas of focus:

  • Marketing & Communications
  • Program & Project Management
  • Volunteer Engagement
  • Administrative & Other

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Marketing & Partner Communications

  • Cultivate and maintain collaborative partnerships with clients, corporate sponsors, and partner agencies to maximize community and partner impact.
  • Create and update new and existing marketing materials (flyers, decks, webpages, slideshows, etc.); work with contractors and skilled volunteers for bigger tasks.
  • Create & update proposals for corporate partners.
  • Assist with showcasing volunteer programs on social media (Facebook, Instagram & LinkedIn)
  • Assist with overall website with updating.
  • Provide an exceptional level of customer service with all corporate partner interactions by providing timely and thorough communication.

Program & Project Management

  • Confirm and initiate new projects, add to project management system, and monitor task statuses to ensure project success
  • Meet with clients to share project options and answer questions
  • Draft proposals and send to client with support from other Partnership staff
  • Lead the creation of project collateral, web collateral, jotforms, Eventbrite, etc
  • Provide training and support to support Volunteer Coordinators for assigned projects
  • Balance deadlines and communications with concurrent projects that range from individual volunteer programs to large-scale volunteer initiatives
  • Support the process of compiling monthly & quarterly volunteer engagement reports in collaboration with the Partnerships team
  • Maintain project attendance and impact records
  • Update data records in Airtable and other tracking methods
  • Work with Operations and Community Impact to improve project processes and streamline project execution

Volunteer Engagement

  • Staff Volunteer Events are held on an as-needed basis up to twice a month.

Administrative & Other

  • Support office interns and volunteers; help manage their scope of work
  • Support Break A Difference’s other volunteer initiatives as needed
  • Other duties assigned

Special Requirements: Must be 21 with a valid driver's license; access to a personal vehicle; comfortable driving or learning to drive a cargo van and small box truck; the flexibility to work some evenings and weekends; travel to project sites across the country approximately 2x/month; capable of lifting/carrying supplies and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds for events.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

Experience

  • 1 year of project/event coordination
  • 1 year volunteer coordination
  • Knowledge of and interest in Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Experience and interest in hands-on volunteer service

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication - eloquence on the phone, via email, and professional demeanor in person are a requirement
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and creating a structure
  • Ability & comfortability to problem solve on the fly
  • Superior organizational and project coordination skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle concurrent multiple assignments and prioritize accordingly
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team; and
  • Excellent customer service & communication abilities
  • Ability to make effective presentations to small & large groups
  • Ability to use & learn to use designated software: Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Airtable, Slack, Wrike, Wix, Eventbrite, and other software
