G&S Foods is a central PA based snack food company operating in Abbottstown, PA. We are a co-manufacturer of sweet and salty snacks from popcorn to chocolate-covered pretzels. We are hiring for a Parts Coordinator. Be a part of our continued Growth & Success at G&S Foods! Our Utility Person position is full-time position with a stable work shift throughout the year and great benefits including attendance bonuses and employee appreciation events!

The Parts Coordinator is responsible for the full-cycle of parts services from ordering, invoicing, distribution and all relevant paperwork. Ensures continued availability and requisition of all required parts for the maintenance department while assisting in the continuous improvement of the preventative maintenance program.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain parts necessary either directly or through purchasing department to complete all required work in a timely manner.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Receive, sort and catalog all parts.
  • Collect packing slips, and ensure they get uploaded for AP.
  • Print labels for parts meant for stock and store in proper locations.
  • Search for work order number and attach it with any parts meant for a job
  • Inform maintenance personnel of parts arrival/availability.
  • Maintain records of amount, kind and location of parts, supplies and materials.
  • Prepare requisitions and order to replenish parts, supplies and materials.
  • Work with maintenance personnel on new and upcoming projects that require parts.
  • Gather and coordinate parts for planned product work for maintenance personnel.
  • Assist in the monitoring of PM programs.
  • Work with the VMI representative to determine what parts we need them to stock, organize when needed, talk to mechanics about what changes might need to be made.
  • Create requisitions for parts, supplies and materials needed.
  • Complete regular cycle counts & track accuracy.
  • Clean and organize stockroom.
  • Physically remove obsolete parts and add parts required for new equipment.
  • Collect all the important information required to load a part into a system and provide it to the senior planner/scheduler.
  • Responsible for driving to complete any local pick up or errand. Uses the UPS portal to ship back returns or repairs. Gather tools and supplies for new hires.
  • Assist senior planner/scheduler as needed.
  • Follow proper Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and standards and report violations.
  • Follow safety procedures and report violations of safety procedures.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Ensure adherence to strict food safety and compliance standards, implementing rigorous protocols and procedures to maintain the highest level of quality, safety and food safety in all job functions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent years’ of experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience in Food/ Beverage Manufacturing preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Must be able to work within a budgetary constraints
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in an organized, detailed manner, given limited time frames
  • Comfortable working independently and showing initiative

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to talk and hear
  • Frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally sit, lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and may infrequently lift and / or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
