Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in boundary and topographic surveying, with expertise in construction layout. As a Survey Party Chief, you will be responsible for leading survey crews, conducting fieldwork, utilizing advanced surveying equipment and software, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of survey data.

Responsibilities:

Lead survey crews in conducting boundary and topographic surveys, as well as construction layout projects.
Plan and organize surveying activities, including determining project requirements, assigning tasks, and establishing survey control points.
Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.
Conduct field surveys using traditional and modern surveying techniques.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of survey data collected in the field.
Interpret survey data and prepare detailed survey reports, maps, and drawings.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in surveying, with a focus on boundary, topographic, and construction layout surveys.
Proficiency in surveying software, including Carlson SurvPC and Carlson with IntelliCAD.
Strong knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelor's degree in surveying, or related field (Not required).
Land Surveyor in training (LSIT), or Certified Survey Technician (CST) or desire to get credentials in the future (Not Required).
Experience with advanced surveying techniques, such as laser scanning and drone mapping.

Salary:
Salary will be dependent on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
