The Cheesecakery is looking to add talented Pastry Assistants to our growing team!

About the Company

The Cheesecakery is based in Madisonville and currently operates a Bakery storefront and two dessert food trucks, in addition to wholesale, catering, and wedding revenue streams.

Everything is made fresh from scratch by our skilled bakeshop team. We are best known for our cheesecake cupcakes, but offer a full line of bakery products including macarons, cheesecake brownies & bars, gourmet desserts, cheesecake wedding cakes, and more.

Our talented Pastry Assistants and Bakers work out of a commissary kitchen located in Madisonville, just minutes away from the retail storefront. There’s no customer interaction at our commissary, so this is a hands-on kitchen position.

Duties & Responsibilities

As a Pastry Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Making cheesecake batter and mixing flavored batters
• Preparing, baking, and decorating cheesecake cupcakes from start-to-finish
• Executing gourmet desserts such as cheesecake brownies, macarons, Tiramisu, and lemon bars
• Prepare and fill orders for bakery pre-orders, weddings, catering, and wholesale channels
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Working with a team mentality

Required Skills & Abilities

• At least 1 year professional baking experience or education required
• Accurately measure ingredients and read recipes
• Effective communication
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
• Strong time management skills
• Solution-oriented mindset
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Physical requirements - Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, stand for long periods of time, and perform repetitive motions.

Schedule & Benefits

• Full-time position with 32-40 hours per week
• Starting pay of $15/hour
• Early morning position with 5am start time
• Weekend availability required
