Full job description
Aspen Ridge Physical Therapy is Davis County’s most sought after outpatient physical therapy clinic. We’ve been treating patients for over 30 years, with the mission to help every patient Feel Better, Move Better, and Be Better!
We are looking to hire a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) / Insurance Specialist. As the PCC, your main responsibilities will be calling and setting up new patient evaluations, setting all patients up properly in our EMR system, verifying insurances, and obtaining/tracking authorizations.
During this role you will provide excellent customer service by making phone calls to new patients and communicating with referring doctors, insurance companies, and attorney offices.
This role is NOT directly working face-to-face with patients, however you may help fill in at the front desk when needed, greeting and checking in patients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Setting Up Evals: You will schedule all patient evaluations; this will be through fax referrals, patients calling in, or walk-in patients. Once a patient is scheduled, you will ensure they are entered into our EMR system properly.
- Authorizations and Verification of Benefits: You will be responsible for the initial and re verification of benefits for all the patients. You must have experience and a proficient understanding of insurance. You will obtain new authorizations and re authorizations for patients that need it.
- Answering phone calls:You will help back up the receptionist on answering incoming phone calls and returning any voicemails/missed calls. You will be responsible for accepting phone calls that involve, setting up evaluations, and insurance questions.
- Follow up with Drop-Off Patients: Through running weekly reports, you will follow up with canceled patient evaluations appointments. You will work with the Receptionist on patients we are waiting on for additional visits to ensure we get them scheduled once approved.
- Backing Up the Receptionist: You will have an understanding on how to greet and check-in patients, collect payments, and schedule out appointments, if needed.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree (or higher)
- Years of experience in a medical office setting as a receptionist, PCC, insurance specialist, etc.
- Must be proficient in understanding how insurances work, verifying benefits, obtaining auth and re-authorizations for all insurance companies.
- Proficient in medical terminology, knowledge of ICD-10 coding systems
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and other healthcare software
This job can be flexible in terms of the hours. We feel right now it is a 25-30 hour a week job, but as we continue to grow, will easily turn into a full-time 40 hour p/week job. We can be flexible on hours with the right person. Because it is not patient interfacing, we can be flexible on when those hours are done.
Pay depends upon experience, but will be in the $18-22 range. Benefits include: 2 weeks paid time off, health insurance offered for this position if needed, and 401k match, bonuses for performance.
