Financial Software Payroll Support Specialist Job Description: Duties and Qualifications
Financial Software Support Specialist are administrative professionals responsible assisting customers with practical use of the Marathon Financial Software.
We are looking for someone with an understanding of Fund Accounting that has knowledge of All Payroll Processing Practices, including Time Clocks and Time Collections, Payroll Processing in Marathon Fund Accounting, Human Resources practices, 941 Reporting, W2 Reporting and 1095C Reporting. To master Payroll Processing skills at least five years of experience in a payroll or an accounting role is needed. Experience as a Business Manager, Payroll Coordinator, Payroll Clerk would be helpful in this position.
The Financial Software Support Specialist position at Central Access Corporation needs to combine all their knowledge and experience in payroll process into a platform to assist our customers with their payroll processing system in Marathon Fund Accounting. We will also consider payroll skills from other public entities that relate to General Fund Accounting principles. Once they have acclimated to the Marathon Financial Payroll Support, they would be expected to learn the support of all Financial Modules in Marathon, including, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, 16thSection and Capital Assets.
The person hired in this position must be willing to train Marathon Fund Accounting Software processes to users in a classroom setting in addition to one-on-one training.
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as payroll specialist or payroll manager.
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practicesas related to Mississippi Department of Education guidelines.
- Very good knowledge of legislation and regulations of the field as related to the State of Mississippi guidelines.
- Proficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software, Marathon Fund Accounting.
- Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
- Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; BSc/BA in business, accounting or relevant field is a plus. Experience in General Fund Accounting systems including Marathon, Integrity, McAleer and Innovak.
