Cutting Edge Pediatric and Adult Therapy is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Pediatric Physical Therapist. Graduate students are welcome to apply!

Cutting Edge Pediatric and Adult Therapy offers ST, OT, PT, ABA, and counseling for patients, ages birth-30, in a highly collaborative and fun, sensory-focused setting. Therapists can easily incorporate movement and sensory activities into treatment sessions, using our engaging therapy gyms, sensory light room, and on our playground. Teenagers and young adults at our facility have the unique opportunity to work on daily living activities and vocational activities in our on-site apartment, mock grocery store, and our on-site coffee shop. At Cutting Edge, our focus is on therapy with a purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete thorough evaluation including range of motion/mobility, assess orthopedic needs, movement analysis and functional abilities for the child that incorporates functional mobility skills in the pediatric population.
  • Educate and demonstrate (verbally and/or in writing) therapy techniques to parents that can be incorporated into a home program; assist families in home program facilitation.
  • Develop individualized goals for each child incorporating functional abilities with the objective to increase daily living skills.
  • Develop and implement treatment program to meet the individual needs of the child.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-service training, and maintain professional clinical competency by attending certified CEUs in-service or workshops in the area of pediatrics.
  • Maintain communication with child’s primary physician through progress reports or other communication measures.
  • May participate in public speaking or community education programs that focus on issues relating to therapy and children.
  • Assess and make recommendations regarding the use of therapeutic, adaptive, and/or positioning equipment as needed and provide written justification and coordinate purchase equipment for a child with team members, service coordinator, intake/billing specialists, families, and other allied professionals.
  • Responsible for timely documentation of evaluation results, progress reports, discharge reports, daily notes, attendance reports, Medicaid prior authorizations and insurance justifications as required.
  • Provide clinical supervision to Physical Therapy Assistants, students, and volunteers.
  • Adhere to the agency safety policies and procedures.
  • Be an active member of a multidisciplinary treatment team to create a comprehensive developmental approach to patient-centered care.

Qualification and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Current licensure by the State of TX or eligible for licensure.
  • Current CPR certification or obtainable within 3 months.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • 1-2 years of pediatric experience preferred, though not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Duties require extensive standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Requires lifting, positioning, and/or transferring clients, including the ability to participate in physical activities and play-based therapies.
  • May be required to lift up to a minimum of 50 pounds.

Salary Information

  • Hourly treatment rate starting at $40.00 per treatment hour depending on experience.
