Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist in Charge to oversee the daily operations of our retail pharmacy. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications while providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in pharmacy practices, including compounding medications and immunization, along with excellent leadership skills to manage pharmacy technicians and support staff.
Duties
- Supervise and manage all pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Supervise and manage all pharmacy operation related to 340B Drug Pricing Program, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Oversee the dispensing of medications, with the possibility of compounding medications in the future.
- Provide patient care services, including counseling on medication administration.
- Prepared to administer immunizations and educate patients on vaccination schedules.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes through effective medication management.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, patient profiles, and inventory management.
- Train and mentor pharmacy technicians and staff on best practices in pharmacy operations.
- Stay updated on advancements in pharmacology, anatomy, physiology, and relevant healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid Louisiana pharmacist license.
- Experience in pediatrics is preferred but not mandatory.
- Previous experience is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it pertains to medication administration.
- Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Ability to lead a team while maintaining a focus on quality patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in compounding medications and understanding various pharmaceutical formulations.
- At least 2 years experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
