Job Overview:
We are looking for a dependable and experienced Pharmacy Technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment, provides empathetic and accurate customer service, and doesn’t shy away from hard work. Along with processing and filling prescriptions, the ideal candidate will tackle challenges with grit and determination, keeping cool under pressure. The ability to engage with customers and resolve issues with patience and empathy will be key to success in this role.

As a Pharmacy Technician at Lindstrom Thrifty White, you must be detail-oriented, handle stress well, and consistently demonstrate accuracy in all tasks. You’ll need to communicate clearly with customers and co-workers, show a willingness to learn, and adapt to the demands of the role. This is a full-time position, averaging 38-40 hours/week, but those seeking part-time hours are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers warmly and engage with them using strong communication skills and empathy to answer questions and address concerns
  • Receive prescriptions and carefully check their validity, ensuring accuracy in all transactions
  • Process prescriptions with precision, ensuring all details are correct and accounted for
  • Problem-solve and handle challenges like rejected insurance claims or prescription issues with confidence and empathy
  • Select the appropriate medicine, measure dosages, and fill prescriptions with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Sort, stock, and label medication while monitoring inventory levels to maintain efficiency
  • Undertake administrative tasks as assigned to support pharmacy operations
  • Comply with all security and quality standards, ensuring customer safety and trust
  • Be open to changes both in the pharmacy and across the industry as a whole

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a pharmacy technician (minimum 3 years)
  • Experience with pharmacy software systems
  • Strong customer service skills, with a focus on empathy and positive interactions
  • Problem-solving abilities and the ability to stay composed under pressure
  • Knowledge of medication, dosage measurement, and pharmacy law
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling prescriptions and patient information
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPPA
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with customers both in person and over the phone
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
  • Successful completion of a pharmacy technician program
  • Interest in pursuing additional certifications (e.g., vaccination certification) as opportunities arise

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
