Job Description

Barr's Pharmacy of Xenia is looking for a highly motivated, full time/part time pharmacy technician to work in the fast-paced environment of our pharmacy. The technician will work under the direction of a pharmacist and in coordination with other technicians to prepare medications for dispensing and delivery to patients; this requires accurate data entry, preparation and packaging of medications, maintaining proper inventory of medications and supplies, keeping appropriate records and documentation, and maintaining patient account receivables.

General Responsibilities:

-Maintain efficient operations and independently resolve problems to ensure outstanding customer service, both in person and over the telephone.

-Work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist to maintain compliance with all applicable federal and multiple state laws at all times, including HIPAA compliance.

-Maintain cleanliness and neatness of the pharmacy and anywhere medications are handled and stored.

-A strong candidate must have exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize daily workload and handle complex systems and information.

Skills:

-High school diploma

-Nationally certified is preferred or one year of relevant health care experience and/or completion of the National Board Certified Pharmacy Technician exam within 365 day of hire date

-Familiarity with pharmacy terminology and medication names

-Dependability and punctuality is a must

Experience:

• pharmacy technician: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:

• Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (Preferred)
