POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of food preparation duties. Cooking, food preparation (cold and hot), slicing foods, food ordering and delivering food.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Prepares a variety of food according to monthly menu. Must follow all CACFP guideline.

2. Compiles paperwork to complete monthly CACFP claim (Spreadsheets, Receipts, Invoices)

3. Stores food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.

4. Cleans work area(s), equipment, utensils.

5. Portion and wrap food accordingly.

6. Properly measures and assembles ingredients required for menu recipes.

7. Understands and complies with food safety and temperature standards.

8. Stocks/restocks inventory. Places food orders for all Y childcare locations.

9. Shop at local stores when needed.

10. Stays within monthly budget when ordering food.

11. Maintains required program records (Temperature charts, food counts, etc.)

12. Preps melas for YMCA program activities, staff meetings (Veterans Day breakfast, people helping people, summer carnival, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law (if the state sets requirements. The YMCA should establish minimum qualification standards if the state has no requirements).

2. At least 18 years of age (The age minimum may be higher depending on state law).

3. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire.

4. Attend food safety class at Richland County Health Department within 30 days of hire.

5. Training in food safety, Level 2, is required.

6. ServSafe certificate is required.

7. Have a valid Ohio Driver’s License.

8. Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate meals for menu.

9. Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.

4. The employee is occasionally required to sit in low chairs as well as on the floor to interact with the children.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
