Full job description

Curio Wine Bistro and Bar, located in Downtown Fredericksburg, is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and experienced part-time prep cook who is passionate about the intersection of food and wine and how those complement each other. The Curio kitchen offers a menu focused around wine-centric food with a different focus every month.

The ideal prep cook will have some commercial kitchen experience and will be organized, detail-oriented, and have a passion for presentation. This is a part-time position of approximately 20-25 hours each week (3-4 shifts per week). Staff members also enjoy a generous staff discount and are paid weekly. There is no tip compensation with this position.

Essential Duties

● Prepare all ingredients as required for service.

● Maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen according to Health Department and ServSafe protocols.

● Ensure all items are prepared with great attention to detail and consistency and delivered in a timely manner.

● Follow recipes and instructions consistently, quickly and efficiently.

● Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements & Skills

● Must be 17 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States.

● One year of commercial kitchen experience required.

● Availability to work three to four kitchen shifts per week

● High degree of accuracy and attention to detail required

● Willing to learn new things and work both independently and as a team player

● Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, squat, lift 40 lbs, and go up and down stairs repeatedly

● Active ServSafe certification or equivalent preferred; the ability to earn it within 30 days of hire is required if not already obtained

● Must maintain high standards of cleanliness and follow safety and compliance regulations.
