Bay View Painting is Hiring Preppers in Rockland, ME, and surrounding areas (Brunswick to Belfast)!

We’re a professional painting company dedicated to delivering client satisfaction through high-quality services. What You’ll Do:

  • Review the scope of work for details about the amount of prep to be done, a prepper will be guided and supervised by a lead painter/project manager.
  • Set Up/Breakdown: Preppers will be responsible for setting up job sites in the morning, making sure the material required for the day is in the areas to be prepped, and ready to use.
  • A prepper should be able to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
  • Prepare the surface prior to painting, by properly filling holes, smoothening, and flattening the surface of the workpiece (Sanding process).
  • A prepper will be able to apply a full coat of primer on surfaces (Type of paint designed to prepare a surface for painting), and will also prime specific sections that need it.
  • Exterior Caulking: Preppers will be able to identify areas where caulking is needed, and will caulk exterior siding and trim (Process of applying a material that is meant to fill gaps, cracks, and holes, and create a water and airtight seal).
  • A prepper will be able to properly clean brushes.
  • Cleaning drops/tarps as they are moved throughout the day.
  • Making sure areas are vacuumed/swept clean at the end of every day.
  • Eventually, and after being properly trained, a prepper will be able to train new hires in all areas of prep (This applies to all preppers at this level even if they don’t take a leadership role).

  • Previous painting experience is valued. If you have it, your hourly rate will be determined based on our Tier Pay Scale requirements, ensuring fair and competitive compensation that reflects your skills and expertise.
