Prevention Specialist

Job Description:

• Conducts prevention education/skills training strategy by implementing the “Positive Action” curriculum at designated school sites and/or community sites as indicated by the curriculum developers. Documentation of this strategy must include: a) Date, time, and duration of activity; b) Staff/volunteers conducting activity; c) Session topic, purpose and goal of activity; d) Number of participants; e) Demographics of participants.
• Provide problem identification and referrals to other support services to youth participating in curriculum services.
• Conducts information dissemination strategy by increasing knowledge and changing attitudes through communications
• Conducts positive alternatives in the form of fun, challenging, and structured activities to foster constructive and healthy ways to enjoy free time and learn skills among community of service.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in psychology/Sociology or equivalent.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of participants/professionals in English and Spanish.
• Some travel required within service area and must have current TX driver’s license with current liability insurance

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $33,000.00 per year
