Job Title: Production & Facility Manager

Job Overview: As a Production & Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating the manufacturing activities of our woodworking shop. This includes managing production schedules, ensuring quality standards, and optimizing efficiency in the production process. As the Facilities Manager, your responsibilities will also include but are not limited to, managing building cleanliness and appearance, snow removal, lawn care, and utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning:

  • Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demand and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to understand project requirements and production specifications.

2. Resource Management:

  • Oversee the purchasing/allocation of resources, including labor, machinery, supplies. and materials.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure the availability of required finished materials and procurement of raw materials.

3. Quality Control:

  • Implement and enforce quality control standards to ensure the production of high-quality woodworking products.
  • Conduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.

4. Process Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficiency measures.
  • Work closely with workshop employees to ensure the proper functioning of machinery and equipment.

5. Team Management:

  • Higher, supervise, and lead production staff, including, bowl-turners, sanders, quality control, shipping, and rough-out staff.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Oversee staffing seven days a week

6. Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal laws, which include forklift safety, lock-out tag-out, and maintenance for breathing air pump systems.

7. Project Coordination:

  • Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor project timelines and adjust production schedules as necessary.

8. Cost Management:

  • Monitor production costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Optimize resource utilization to achieve production targets within budget.

9. Facility Maintenance:

  • Oversee production equipment and facility maintenance
  • Spec out and quote new equipment


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Proven experience in woodworking shop management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of woodworking processes, techniques, and materials.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze production data and implement improvements.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for production planning.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing production needs and priorities.
