Production & Inventory Control Manager

Location: Farmington, NH

Department: Operations / Manufacturing

Reports To: Director of Operations / Plant Manager

Position Summary

The Production & Inventory Control Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing production schedules and inventory levels to support T/C Arms’ operational goals. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials, accurate inventory management, and on-time delivery of finished goods while maintaining quality, cost, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of manufacturing environments, ERP systems, and cross-functional collaboration in a regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Control

  • Develop, maintain, and manage master production schedules to meet customer demand, sales forecasts, and operational capacity.
  • Coordinate production priorities with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing teams.
  • Monitor production performance and adjust schedules to address constraints, delays, or material shortages.
  • Support new product launches by ensuring accurate routings, BOMs, and production readiness.

Inventory Management

  • Oversee inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to optimize cash flow while ensuring uninterrupted production.
  • Establish and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, and system audits.
  • Analyze inventory trends and implement strategies to reduce excess, obsolete, or slow-moving inventory.
  • Ensure inventory controls comply with internal policies, ATF regulations, and audit requirements.

ERP & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate item master data, BOMs, routings, and inventory transactions within the ERP system.
  • Generate and analyze production, inventory, and capacity reports to support decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data accuracy, reporting, and system utilization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Purchasing and Supply Chain to align material availability with production needs.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to support demand planning and promotional activities.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to resolve production or material issues.
  • Serve as a key liaison between shop floor operations and management.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, inventory turns, and overall operational performance.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives and process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures related to production planning and inventory control.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning, inventory control, or operations management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in firearms, defense, aerospace, or other regulated manufacturing industries is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable plans.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must have experience and demonstrated experience in generating and maintaining master schedules manually.

Preferred Skills:

  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
  • Strong understanding of BOM structures, routings, and capacity planning.
  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams.
