The Program Associate will support the Grants and Impact Director in implementing and managing the Bethany Legacy Foundation's (BLF) grantmaking and strategic initiatives. This role is critical in ensuring that BLF’s programs align with its mission to enhance social determinants of health and well-being in the rural communities it serves. The Program Associate will work closely with community partners, grantees, and internal teams to facilitate program execution and maximize impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Support & Implementation:

  • Assist in the design and execution of program strategies that align with BLF’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Support the grantmaking process, including proposal reviews, proposal presentations to BLF leadership, maintaining a grantee portfolio, communication with grantees, and coordinating impact evaluations.
  • Help identify and pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships to enhance program reach and effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:

  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, funders, and government agencies.
  • Act as a liaison between BLF and grantees, ensuring effective communication and collaboration based on Trust-Based Philanthropy principles.

Impact Measurement & Reporting:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of evaluation frameworks to assess program outcomes and impact.
  • Help analyze data and prepare reports for BLF leadership, board members, and community stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the continuous refinement of programs based on feedback, research, and best practices.

Administrative & Operational Support:

  • Provide administrative support by maintaining records relating to all grants from application, approval or denial, and reporting.
  • Assist with budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting associated with program activities.

Team Development & Culture:

  • Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, team support and innovation within BLF as employee.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (ideally but not limited to in Public Health, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.)
  • Experience in program management, project management, grantmaking, or a similar role within a nonprofit or philanthropic organization preferred.
  • Strong organizational, writing and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data analysis tools.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

In person.

This position may require occasional travel.

Flexible work arrangements may be available.
