Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA) is a not-for-profit, equal-opportunity employer located in Des Plaines, Illinois, USA.

IFANCA is a leader in the realm of Halal certification services, providing Halal certificates for products and ingredients since 1982.

JOB SUMMARY:

Assist the Director in development of food security and health security programs and

partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Assist the Director of Market Development in developing food security and health security

programs and procedures, as well as establishing and managing partnerships.

2. Provide clear summaries of discussions and outline the next steps in communications.

3. Create and maintain an organized activities calendar and documentation.

4. Schedule and coordinate meetings as needed.

5. Ensure timely follow-up and follow-through on deliverables both internally and with

partners/clients.

6. Oversee the certification workflow, working with clients and internal departments to

ensure all steps are completed promptly and all information is well-documented.

7. Follow up with clients on certificate renewals and invoices.

8. Ensure timely review and approval of ingredients.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mature and personal Muslim faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of IFANCA
  • Able to understand, interpret and communicate technical aspects of halal certification processes, regulations, and standards
  • Adapt to changing business needs, conditions, and work responsibilities; and work with a variety of situations, individuals, groups, and varying customer needs
  • Prioritize tasks by importance and deadlines and adjust priorities as situations change
  • Requires exceptional verbal and written communication and outstanding presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and ability to utilize other software programs as needed
  • Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and teamwork

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. A Bachelor's Degree and 1-2 years of similar work experience

2. Candidates with an Associate's Degree can also apply if they have the skills to meet the responsibilities of the job and 3-4 years of similar work experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
