Civic West is seeking a part-time program coordinator to serve as a Strengthen ND AmeriCorps member in West Fargo through October 2024. Join an enthusiastic and dedicated group of volunteers developing a project with community partners in West Fargo to increase civic knowledge and engagement in the community. The Program Coordinator will develop, implement, and maintain programs and partnerships that promote and support the organization’s goals.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Seek out and develop partnerships/sponsorships with local businesses and organizations.
- Design printed and digital promotional materials.
- Develop, publish, and review content for website and community calendar.
- Plan and execute social media strategy and content, exploring expansion into new platforms.
- Research benchmarks for current community engagement.
- Attend all Steering Committee meetings and maintain a record of all meetings.
- Maintain contact lists and develop compelling email campaigns for fundraising, general information sharing and volunteer engagement.
- Manage all logistics for event planning including site securement, vendor management, marketing, and collaboration with community partners.
- Develop a network of Civic West volunteers who attend open city meetings and file reports for the newsletter.
- Support the development of a citizens’ academy about city departments foe residents.
- Assist with grant writing.
- Develop a Civic West newsletter for keeping volunteers, partners and sponsors informed of Civic West activities and opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to work as a team member and take direction.
- Highly organized and able to manage projects independently.
- Keen interest in civic and political engagement.
- Strong writing and speaking skills.
- An aptitude for advertising, design, and public relations.
- High degree of professionalism working with diverse groups and civic leaders.
- Knowledge of communication strategies and digital marketing.
- Personal accountability and ownership of assignments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience collaborating with local officials, businesses, organizations, and residents.
- Experience in tracking and communicating program success and impact.
- Experience with Facebook, Canva, Wix, and other social media platforms.
- Some post-secondary education.
- Experience in advertising, marketing, and/or public relations.
- Knowledge of communication strategies and digital marketing.
Service Schedule, Location and Supervision:
The Program Coordinator will work under the direction of the Civic West Steering Committee with direct supervision provided by the Steering Committee Co-chairs. The term will be 450 hours between the date of hire and October 31, 2024. Hours will be scheduled with the host site supervisors, however flexible scheduling can be utilized with hours of work primarily occurring between the hours of 8am and 10pm. Working at another job and/or attending school during off hours is permitted.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 13 per week
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
