Program Coordinator

First Tee Denver is seeking an energetic and dynamic individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead and plan on-course and in-school golf instruction programs. First Tee Denver is a non-profit, youth development program. Their mission is to impact and inspire youth academically, socially, and physically through the game of golf. They create and deliver innovative programs that reinforce life skills and academics during fun, interactive golf lessons.
Job Duties
This position will assist the Director of Programming, the Director of In-School Programming, and other Program Coordinators with the planning and organization of in-school and on-course programs and serve as a lead instructor during these programs. Prior experience coaching golf is preferred but not as necessary as experience working with children. In addition to these main duties, as an employee of a non-profit, everyone is expected to help with other administrative and operational tasks including but not limited to: fundraising, event planning, donor stewardship, data management, and customer service.

Planning and Organizing Programs

  • Work as a team to create the most beneficial experiences for participants
  • Help plan and organize materials and lesson plans before classes
  • Assist with training of other coaches
  • Manage and lead specific programs
  • Provide feedback on programs and constantly strive to improve organization

Coaching Golf Programs

  • Be able to serve as lead instructor during various programs and serve as secondary instructor to other lead instructors
  • Build relationships with participants during programs, model expected behavior and life skills, serve as strong role model for kids and a positive representative of First Tee Denver
  • Create and maintain a safe environment that is welcoming and inclusive to all participants
  • Learn and deliver lesson plans with emphasis on each day’s life skill and golf objective in an activity-based setting
  • Work as a team with other instructors to ensure consistency of programs

Required Skills and Qualifications
Previous Experience

Ideal areas of previous experience:

  • Experience working with youth especially in a coaching environment
  • Experience leading others
  • Experience working as part of a team

Education Qualifications

High-school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred. Relevant experience will be taken into account in lieu of education.


This position requires the following computer skills:

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and similar productivity software
  • Ability to accurately enter and track data in various databases
  • Ability to set up and conduct virtual meetings and classes using Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to communicate clearly through email
  • Ability to conduct online searches and use basic online platforms and browsers

  • Must be enthusiastic and energetic in front of groups of kids and adults
  • Must be motivational and inspirational to participants
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and form relationships with co-workers, volunteers, participants, and other program constituents
  • Must be self-motivated and willing to take on tasks without being assigned

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation: Starting salary range: $40,000-$50,000 annually
