About the organization:
The Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence (http://www.mfee.org/) provides resources for educators, schools, and students and brings new ideas and critical support to Montclair Public Schools. As part of this work, MFEE operates after-school programs for Spanish-speaking Multilingual Learner (ML) students in Montclair Public Schools. Students participate in enrichment activities and receive tutoring from bilingual high-school-age student volunteers. Students also receive direct instruction from qualified teachers. Oruguitas (https://www.mfee.org/oruguitas), K through 5th graders, operates on Mondays and Wednesdays. Entrenadores Escolares (https://www.mfee.org/entrenadores-escolares), 6th through 12th graders, operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are approximately 25 students in each program.
About the position:

You are committed to supporting newcomer students, are fluent in Spanish and English, and are excited about running an afterschool program. You are organized and can handle multiple responsibilities. You are experienced in managing groups of children. You can apply your experience to create an environment in which young students and teens feel seen, safe, and connected. You are a strong communicator, and are able to build relationships with caregivers, students, teen tutors, and teachers. You are excited to work in a collaborative and hyper-local organization that engages with a broad range of partners. We encourage you to apply if you are excited by this work and can transfer your skills and experience to the nonprofit sector or to direct service programming.
