OVERVIEW
Heart of the City is seeking a passionate, energetic, and bilingual (Spanish preferred) professional to manage our Grassroots and Academy soccer programs while supporting youth development initiatives. This dual role blends on-field development and leadership with off-field youth support, ensuring our student-athletes receive high-quality soccer training alongside impactful youth development programming. This includes delivering Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons that build resilience, teamwork, and communication skills; guiding student athletes through personal development activities focused on goal setting, decision making, and healthy lifestyles; connecting them with college and career readiness experiences; and fostering a safe, inclusive environment where they can grow as both athletes and individuals. This position is highly front facing with our student athletes and partners, requiring regular afternoon, evening, and weekend hours to meet the needs of our programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Youth Development Support
o Deliver SEL lessons in collaboration with the Director of Youth Development to student athletes from early elementary to high school.
o Facilitate individual action plans with student athletes to support academic, athletic, and personal growth.
o Assist YDS with college visits, career visits, and occasional overnight trips.
o Explore and connect student athletes with career opportunities and post-secondary support.
o Build and maintain positive relationships with student athletes, families, and coaches.
Academy Soccer Program
o Coach Grassroots and Academy soccer sessions when assigned by Director of Academy (DoA).
o Manage Academy programs and assist the DoA with curriculum development and session planning.
o Organize and deliver Grassroots clinics at locations across Lake County in collaboration with the DoA.
o Observe, mentor and support coaches, including high school student athlete coaches, to ensure sessions are high-quality and aligned with program standards.
o Maintain strong relationships with partner site reps to uphold the HOTC brand.
o Identify and recruit student athletes for the Elite travel program.
o Present HOTC program opportunities and benefits to parents.
o Ensure clear, timely communication with families.
o Develop strategies with the DoA to increase female participation in programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Þ Experience working with youth in educational, recreational, or community programs.
Þ Coaching experience and knowledge of youth soccer development required.
Þ Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Þ Ability to work with diverse age groups and backgrounds.
Þ Spanish language skills strongly preferred.
Þ Flexible availability for afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
Þ Commitment to HOTC’s mission of empowering student athletes on and off the field.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
