Position Summary
As an Industry Partnerships Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our workforce. You will lead and manage projects designed to enhance skills, employability, and career opportunities for individuals across diverse industries. The Industry Partnerships Manager uses project management, relationship development, and communication principles to collaborate on initiatives that solve challenges related to employment, retention, education/training, and job quality. This is a full-time, grant-funded position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and refine project strategies in alignment with organizational goals.
- Create project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish metrics for measuring project success.
- Manage project budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and track expenditures.
2. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as HR departments, government agencies, educational institutions, and industry partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project support and alignment.
3. Community Outreach and Partnerships:
- Foster relationships with community organizations, educational institutions, and other partners to enhance program accessibility and effectiveness.
4. Continuous Learning:
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in workforce development.
- Attend conferences, workshops, and training sessions to expand knowledge and skills.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, education, community or social services, or related field; or a combination of academic preparation and professional experience demonstrating the necessary skills and abilities to successfully execute the position’s essential duties and responsibilities.
- 3+ years of experience successfully managing projects from initiation to completion
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite, including Teams, Outlook, Excel, etc.
- Experience in building meaningful, collaborative relationships with external stakeholders, such as businesses, schools, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, including writing, public speaking, and presentations
- Attention to detail, problem-solving, adaptability, time management, self-direction, collaboration, and cultural awareness are required for this position.
- Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion principles
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent/related certification
- Knowledge of or experience in workforce development issues, institutions, best practices, and policies (e.g. Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act)
- Existing network of relationships in metro Atlanta’s business, non-profit, government and/or workforce development communities
- Experience working in a hybrid or work-from-home capacity
- Experience in developing or managing apprenticeship programs
- Experience in grant writing
- Experience using Salesforce
