Steel Pro is looking to add a qualified Project Manager, specializing in commercial steel, to its growing operation in Memphis, TN. Position Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Project Manager with a strong background in structural steel fabrication and material take-offs. The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects from inception through completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle to ensure successful execution.
  • Material Take-Offs: Coordinate with the engineering and estimating teams to prepare accurate material take-offs. Review project specifications and drawings to determine material quantities and requirements.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact after award for clients, addressing any concerns, providing updates, and ensuring their needs are met throughout the project.
  • Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate with internal teams, including engineering, production, and installation, to ensure seamless project execution. Manage subcontractors and suppliers as necessary.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work meets company and industry standards for quality and safety. Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor progress and resolve any issues.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and manage financial aspects to ensure projects are completed within budget. Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address any challenges that arise during the project.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and correspondence. Prepare and submit progress reports and project updates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the structural steel fabrication industry.
  • Knowledgeable in EPM and Tekla software.
  • Proven experience with material take-offs and interpreting construction drawings.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage client relationships.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • PMP certification or other relevant project management certifications (preferred).
