Position Overview: We seek a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) to join our healthcare team. As a Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive psychiatric care to patients of all ages. Your primary responsibility will be to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with mental health conditions under the supervision of a licensed psychiatrist. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans and provide ongoing support to promote positive mental health outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including mental health evaluations, medical histories, and psychosocial assessments.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations and formulate accurate psychiatric diagnoses based on assessment findings, DSM criteria, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications as necessary, ensuring safe and effective medication management.
  • Provide psychoeducation to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
  • Conduct support or talk therapy sessions during medication management support.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans accordingly to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Provide crisis intervention and management for patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms or emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient assessments, treatments, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay abreast of current research, trends, and best practices in psychiatric nursing to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice, maintaining patient confidentiality and advocating for patient rights.
  • Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary care team to provide integrated care.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and guidance to nursing staff, students, and other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
  • Contribute to a high-performing culture by focusing on collaboration with clients and clinicians.
  • Identify and provide education to clients and their families about current and potential health problems, the treatment plan, self-care, and prevention strategies

Qualifications:

· Able to practice independently.

· Master’s degree in nursing with a specialization in psychiatric-mental health.

· Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.

· National certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from a recognized certifying body.

· Minimum of 1-3 years of clinical experience in psychiatric-mental health nursing.

· Knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment principles, including psychopharmacology.

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills to facilitate effective care coordination and interdisciplinary teamwork.

· Ability to work autonomously, make sound clinical judgments, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Knowledge of healthcare regulations, legal and ethical standards, and documentation requirements.

· Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.

Pay: $75.00 - $80.00 per hour
