Full job description

This is an in-office position located in Boston, MA providing individual psychotherapy, couples counseling and various evaluations to adults, children, and others.


  • Conduct Initial Assessments: Perform comprehensive psychological evaluations of adult clients to identify mental health issues and establish a baseline for treatment.
  • Develop Individualized Treatment Plans: Create tailored therapy plans for each client, setting clear, achievable goals and determining appropriate therapeutic modalities and session frequencies.
  • Provide Individual Psychotherapy: Conduct one-on-one therapy sessions using evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, person centered psychotherapy, psychodynamic therapy, or solution-focused therapy, tailored to the needs of adult clients.
  • Monitor Client Progress: Regularly assess clients' progress towards their therapeutic goals, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure the most effective care.
  • Maintain Confidential Client Records: Keep detailed and confidential records of all therapy sessions, client progress, and any changes in treatment plans.
  • Crisis Management: Respond effectively to clients' crises or emergency situations, providing immediate support and intervention as needed.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with the latest research and advancements in adult psychotherapy through continuing education, workshops, and professional literature.
  • Compliance with Ethical Standards and Regulations: Adhere to professional ethical guidelines and legal requirements related to mental health practice, including confidentiality, consent, and mandatory reporting.
  • Client Advocacy and Referrals: Advocate for clients’ mental health needs and make referrals to other health professionals or resources when aspects of clients’ conditions are beyond the scope of psychotherapy.
  • Build Therapeutic Relationships: Establish and maintain professional, empathetic, and supportive relationships with clients, fostering a safe and trusting environment conducive to effective therapy.


  • A Master's degree in Social Work
  • Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW)
  • 1 to 2 years of practice providing psychotherapy preferred. Internship time is acceptable but must have been clinically oriented and providing direct psychotherapy.
  • Bilingual Preferred: Spanish

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
