Are you detail-oriented and passionate about supply chain management? Our growing flexo printing company is seeking a dedicated and efficient Purchasing Assistant to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring our production processes run smoothly by managing the procurement of materials and maintaining excellent supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Order Management: Manage the entire procurement process from order placement to delivery, ensuring timely receipt of materials.
- Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing to ensure the best deals.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels, conducting regular stock checks and updating records accordingly.
- Price Analysis: Conduct market research to identify cost-effective purchasing opportunities and evaluate supplier quotes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
- Problem Solving: Resolve any issues related to orders, deliveries, or quality discrepancies swiftly and efficiently.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the production, finance, and quality control teams to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the printing or manufacturing industry.
- Education: 2 years in Supply Chain Management.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Superior Tape and Label is currently looking to grow their purchasing/buying team.
In this role you will be an active member of the purchasing team. The role works closely with all departments at STL. Your primary goal will be to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
We believe you will have:
- Prior office experience. 3+ years preferred.
- Basic machine mechanical aptitude
- High computer skills (Excel, Access, Microsoft Office Suite)
- Dependability and reliability
- Intermediate math skills and reading comprehension
- Excellent communication skills via email, phone and video conference.
- Detail-oriented
- Great organization skills.
- Quick learner with a good attitude.
- Flexible in a fast paced environment.
- A fascination with the manufacturing process and getting to the root of how products are produced.
What you will do:
- lace and oversee all material and supply orders (and any others as directed)
- Maintain accurate information with regard to all faucets of order placement (confirmations, delivery dates, shipping/tracking information, pricing, etc.)
- Maintain continual awareness of department budgets
- Continually monitor raw materials and supplies and place orders as needed to ensure there are no disruptions to service and/or production
- Maintain familiarity with pricing, lead times and vendor contracts
- Consistently evaluate processes and schedules to ensure the most efficient and cost effective procurement
- Communicate intradepartmentally any changes to lead times, prices, delivery dates, etc.
- Schedule routine facilities maintenance as assigned
- Create all materials, inks, supplies, etc. as requested in CERM and maintain accurate records with regard to such
- Ensure supplier records are accurate and up to date
- Know and adherence to internal processes
- Support other Superior Departments needing assistance.
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 AM-4:30 PM with some flexibility
Compensation: Starting at $21/hour - $26/hour, with room for advancement
