G&S Foods is a central PA based snack food company operating in Hanover, PA. We are a co-manufacturer of sweet and salty snacks from popcorn to chocolate-covered pretzels. We are hiring for a Quality Assurance Manager. Be a part of our continued Growth & Success at G&S Foods!
The Quality Assurance Manager’s primary mission is to direct and monitor a range of all in-plant food safety, quality procedures and staff. To take responsibility and accountability for the safe and effective use of materials and equipment, ensure compliance with defined policies and procedures including Regulatory, GMP’s, HACCP, GFSI, and SOP’s.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Developing and maintaining Food Safety & Quality Assurance programs including, but not limited to: Formula Control, Allergen Control, Recall, Sanitation Effectiveness, and Food Safety Plans
- Managing, developing and coaching the Quality Assurance department by establishing department goals
- Assuring implementation and utilization of SPC system which will allow for real time process control and data driven decision making by operators
- Managing consumer complaints, establishing trending, implementing corrective actions and responding appropriately to all investigation requests
- Leading, supporting and maintaining facility GFSI Certification (SQF), Kosher Certification, Gluten-free Certification, FSMA/USDA compliance, recall and traceability system, and allergy control system
- Preparing and leading internal / external audits for verifications
- Respond to updates or changes in regulations on specifications, procedures, quality, and implications utilized in a range of finished products
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in technical studies such as chemistry, food science or related fields
- Five years of quality assurance leadership experience
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, precision measurement, process capability studies, chemistry, and food processes
- Knowledge in Sanitation and GMP Practices, familiarity with Pest Control programs and techniques
- Knowledge of Quality Standards and Quality Policies, with skills and ability to execute against requirements
- Knowledgeable in industry Food Safety/Quality audit practices, and skilled in adapting to achieve business best practices
- Desired certifications: HACCP and GFSI (SQF)
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Facilitate and/or direct resolution to issues as it relates to food safety, regulatory, Quality Systems and their application with food processing
- Ability to read and write in-depth policies, procedures and related materials
- Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of product process and employee privacy information
