Who is Potter Jane?

We are a distillery founded by two industry veterans with a vast array of knowledge and experience that take whiskey making seriously, but not ourselves. The Job:

Beyond the day-to-day responsibilities listed below, we are looking for a leader committed to promoting quality consciousness that ensures production can consistently meet quality standards. This role will give you the unique opportunity to establish procedures that will be implemented throughout all stages of the manufacturing process. You will also work daily with ownership to set goals, create strategies and allocate resources that will ensure success across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform quality control testing on all raw materials, in-process samples and outbound finished products to ensure specifications are met or exceeded

· Set up a greenfield lab to support Distillery Operations and future Bottling Operations

· Responsible for training and ensuring competency of all personnel conducting production quality analyses

· Conduct routine equipment maintenance to ensure accurate and consistent results

· Manage and actively participate in blending and sensory evaluations of distillate, experimental whiskey and aged product

· Monitor and assess performance of all quality/food safety procedures to measure effectiveness and implement actions for improvement

· Design and manage appropriate reporting systems for analysis and communication of quality data throughout all phases of production

· Lead the development, implementation and effectiveness of all Quality, Food Safety, and GMP systems as deemed necessary by the Leadership Team

· Coordinate all internal audit and inspection programs required by implemented quality systems (i.e. ISO 9000, ISO 22000, GMP, etc.)

· Interact and communicate with customers on a regular basis

· Develop and manage departmental and capital budget

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Science related field preferred or equivalent years of work-related experience

· Minimum of 5 years distilled spirits experience with significant management and leadership experience in an operational and/or specialist environment

· Experience in implementing, managing and improving various types of quality and food safety systems (i.e. ISO 9000, ISO 22000, etc.)

· Proficient computer skills with experience utilizing electronic mail software, time accounting software, project management software, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PLC applications

· Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
