R&D Manager

G&S Foods, a leading snack food manufacturer based in Hanover, PA, is looking for an experienced R&D Manager to join our growing team. As a co-manufacturer of a wide range of sweet and salty snacks, including popcorn and chocolate-covered pretzels, we’re committed to delivering innovative, high-quality products for our clients. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the formulation, development, and testing of new snack food products, ensuring alignment with client specifications and market trends.
• Manage multiple R&D projects simultaneously, coordinating timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure on-time product launches.
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored, innovative product solutions.
• Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the R&D team.
• Ensure all products meet regulatory standards and adhere to internal quality guidelines, conducting necessary testing and maintaining proper documentation.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitor products, and consumer preferences to inform R&D strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Production, Supply Chain) to ensure smooth product transitions from development to manufacturing.
• Document all development processes, formulations, and testing results to ensure thorough record-keeping and compliance.
• Identify opportunities for improving product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in the R&D process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in food science or a combination of education and experience.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team leadership abilities.
