We are committed to fostering the growth and development of our staff, and we are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Appraiser Trainee to join our team.

Position Summary:

The Appraiser Trainee will work under the direct supervision of an Experienced Appraiser to learn the fundamental principles and practices of real estate appraisal. This entry-level position is designed to provide hands-on experience and training in property valuation methods, data collection, and report preparation. The Appraiser Trainee will be involved in various aspects of the appraisal process, including site inspections, market research, and analysis. This role serves as a stepping stone towards obtaining a certified appraiser license.

Key Responsibilities:

· Study and understand federal, state, and local real estate valuation regulations and guidelines.

· Assist in collecting and analyzing data related to property characteristics, market trends, and comparable sales.

· Conduct property site inspections to gather necessary information for appraisals.

· Assist in preparing detailed appraisal reports under the guidance of a Senior Appraiser.

· Ensure that all reports comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

· Assist in maintaining and updating appraisal records and databases.

· Participate in comprehensive training sessions and workshops.

· Format and proofread real estate appraisal reports to ensure accuracy.

· Collaborate closely with staff appraisers, supporting the processing of reports including property information data entry, photos, sketches, and sales data.

· Engage in light research, including verifying sales records via MLS, tax record authentication, and deed analysis.

· Adhere to deadlines, contributing to efficient report turnaround times.

· Assist in quality control efforts, minimizing report processing time

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business, or a related field is preferred but not required.

· Completion of relevant appraisal courses is a plus.

· Keen eye for detail, Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

· Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

· Previous experience in real estate, finance, or a related field is beneficial but not required.

· No prior appraisal experience is necessary as full training will be provided.

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

· Willingness to travel locally for property inspections.
