Full job description
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will have experience with the management of property portfolios and executing real estate strategies across a variety of residential or commercial projects. The Development & Asset Manager will be responsible for tasks related to the portfolio’s stewardship and project success, including financial modeling, planning, design, entitlement, permitting, sales, marketing, close-out, reporting, and asset management.
The Development & Asset Manager will have the ability to effectively operate within various teams, including partners, consultants, and stakeholders, to achieve a project's success while simultaneously building a positive company reputation with all parties. The role is community and market-facing, playing an important role in building trust as we improve our asset utilization.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Work with the Vice President of Real Estate to implement MLP’s real estate strategy
- Create and refine financial proformas, feasibility, and sensitivity analyses
- Work with development partners, capital partners, tenants, and other stakeholders
- Manage planners, architects, and engineers to envision and design projects
- Guide the development, construction, marketing, sale, and lease of properties
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
- Understanding of land use, development, and asset management in Hawaii
- Understanding of cultural and natural resources unique to Maui
- 4 - 6+ years of experience in real estate management or development in Hawaii
- Education in real estate development, business, management, engineering, or related fields
- Professional interaction with team members, stakeholders, government officials, and staff
- Management, problem-solving, financial, and analytical skills
- “Can-do” attitude, pro-active, and resourceful
- Respectful, trustworthy, and humble personality traits
- Strong attention to detail
