Recovery Support Specialist - Community Living Room (Night and Weekend)

Responsibilities:

• Provide supports to individuals accessing the Community Living Room;
• Make referral to Crisis services when higher level of care is needed;
• Maintain resource directory, staying up to date on changes to local resources;
• Assist individuals in developing coping skills and strategies for relapse prevention
• Provide; education on mental health, addiction, and recovery topics;
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions and progress.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or higher education;
• Lived experience as a consumer of mental health or substance abuse services;

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Ability to work constructively with clients, other providers and the community
• Knowledge of community resources for referral purposes
• Understanding of the Mental Health Code and Confidentiality Act
• Ability to put agency policies and procedures to practice
• Ability to interact with administration, boards, public and staff in a friendly, cooperative, confidential and professional manner at all times
